00:56

right back to today's show Hi there and welcome to today's episode, which is all about looking after your gut health now. I know that might not sound like the most exciting topic we can talk about but this is been such a game changer in my health and well being over the past decade that I feel it would be a disservice to you if I didn't talk about this and why it's so important. Now I did do a full episode about this in season one of the podcast however,

01:28

I wanted to just get a little bit more into the nitty gritty of what that looks like and what I can physically do day to day to protect and look after my gut health. But firstly, I really wanted to talk to you about why it's so important to look after your gut. And when I talk about your gut I talk about that the fact that your gut is the epicenter of everything that's going on in your body and a lot of the time

01:48

when we start to feel bloated or we start to feel tired or we start to break out or just really struggle with sort of lots of different things like that. It's our body's way of screaming at us but it needs to detoxify it needs a reset it needs support. Because there's a reason your gut is called your second brain because there's literally a nerve that runs all the way from your brain right down to your gut. So that gut feeling that you get that is a real that's the real deal.

02:17

Guys, that is a thing. So our gut health is so important to support our immunity to keep our energy copter when we start to find that we're getting sick often or we're feeling low in energy. It's often a sign that our body is crying out for that microbiome that lining around, you know, in our gut in our sort of digestive system to really be reset, supported. And yeah, just rebooted to take us forward and help us have more energy, help us have more vitality, more health and just protect us

02:51

from that long term chronic illness stuff that we really want to be avoiding. So something that I do every day as part of my morning routine is my morning Greenshot and I call it a shark. It's really sort of more a half a glass of water but nowadays as a mom, that's the closest thing I get to a night out in shots. So for me that is just something I a little concoction that I use every day to just combine a few different supplements that I take to support my

03:20

gut health to make sure that I'm giving my tummy that support and as somebody who is a sufferer of IBS, irritable bowel syndrome. It was something that I developed a long, long, long, long, long, long time ago in my teens and the biggest exacerbates of IBS is stress. So I can tell when I start to feel tired or bloated in my tummy that a lot of the time it's because of my stress and that's when I know I need to put a lot of sort of stress management tips and hacks that

03:50

I share in place for myself. I need to up by exercise that's a big stress Mapa rapper it comes along and just sort of mops up all the stress in my body and so things like that, but one of the things I can be doing every single day because it's all about the habits isn't it's the compound effect. Is this morning Greenshot and what I actually do is in profit loss of water you maybe see me on my Insta story sharing this and I have some videos and so I'll link to that in the

04:16

show notes so you can have a look at how I actually make this is I pop a gut health microbiome and digestion support supplement that I have and take through my business with our bond and our bond is a vegan, no nasties health and wellness pride that I've personally been using for over 10 years. So yeah, such an endorser of this product range, and I have that supplement.

04:39

I also pop in either depending on what I'm needing one of my physics so physics, our bonds version of healthy energy, so instead of sort of a chemical caffyns That is a blend of Corona ginseng chromium which is great for concentration and it just an sweetened through stevia. So it's that plant based hits of sweetness. That is great. Also, if you're sort of mid morning slump, mid afternoon slump. I don't care to have them in the evening because I don't want energy at nighttime but I'll put that in my drink.

05:07

Oh, the other thing I like to use is mind health supplements. So then that's great for concentration, great if you've got sort of projects studying exams coming up, or just generally brain fog. So I know a lot of women as they become perimenopause or menopause or struggle with brain fog. So that's a really great one for me as someone who manages my ADHD not through medication so for me, I tend to rely on natural remedies. So this for me is something that really helps with that, but that is not medical advice.

5:36

I'm not a doctor, so please, always read the labels. Always check with your doctor that it's right for you to be taking these supplements and products but yeah, for me I pop that in either a fistic or mind health we can have both. And another option as well depending for me is almond also does a fantastic skin Alexa product which is a vegan collagen supplement.

05:57

And that's great for plumping up from the inside out. Hyaluronic Acid is the key ingredient in there and that's really great for skin health, that glow that I have in my skin and so some people put all three I can mix and match it but for me, that's a great option and also great for your skin, hair and nails. So brilliant. So I have that and then I will pop the scoop of almonds super greens powder in there. Now one scoop is the equivalent of one portion of fruits and veggies forever.

06:26

Within that scoop you've got a variety of 36 fruits and vegetables. So again, that's just a highly concentrated way that I can be injecting more fruit and veg into my diet. So for me that is just a winner. I also give it to my daughter she has some of that some water in the morning. I've been giving it to her since she was a child so she loves the flavor and the taste, but you can also disguise it in food or if you're doing a chili or something like that.

06:50

You can pop some greens in there, so that's great. I can also use that greens powder in my smoothie. So if I want to top up my smoothie and give it a shot of it, you know vitamins, minerals, my veggies, it's a great way to do it. But I like to have that scoop with my physical My mind's help or my skin or licks for collagen support. And I also then put a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and so that is a great little tip on maintaining gut health.

07:14

So I buy that organic mother of tongue and I thought that was so weird when I first heard that but that's the version you need to buy because that is the purest form. So when that nutritionist will recommend to you as well. So I have a tablespoon a day and really good for my gut health. Can apple cider vinegar is great if you're making homemade salad dressings, great sources, you know giving that hitter acidity but again, so good for your gut health.

07:36

So I'll use that a tablespoon of that. I will mix it up I've got this little milk frother that I bought on Amazon for like four or five quid honestly and it's great so it literally just is all up for me. And then I drink that back and I absolutely love the flavor and the taste of it. However, I probably didn't always I actually had a message the other day saying how many days do you have to have that before you get used to the taste?

07:58

And I was like, it's so funny because your body gets used to what you give it so I know for all my clients who follow me and doing a daily greens got health shots, they say oh, within a couple of days, they absolutely love it and they love the way that it helps with deep bloating, helping them reset the energy just feeling great. The skin starts to glow, the whites of the eyes,

08:18

all sorts of things. It just has such a myriad of benefits. So I like to have that first thing about half an hour to an hour before I then eat my breakfast. But yeah, that's you could have it at night if you wanted to. I just wouldn't recommend the first day because again, your body's doing so much repairing at nighttime that if you did have it at nighttime, again, that would be working on your gut overnight. While it's repairing the skin Alexa would be great helping your

08:41

skin repair overnight. So that's just one of my top tips of a practical hack that I have in my life every day which helps boost my energy helps protect my gut health and honestly if you get around me long enough, I will brainwash you into believing why you'll get the help is so important. To you. But honestly, it's been such a game changer for me as someone who's got more energy now in my coming up to 40 than I did in my mid 20s When I didn't know about gut health and

09:11

, but I really live a life of:

09:31

that's what life's all about after all. So yes if this is something that you fancy giving a try then do go to the link in my show notes. I've loaded up those supplements and a little cart that you can sort of check out there and also sharing the videos of how I physically make my green shots day to day. And I would love to hear how you find that and if you're not quite convinced, DM me,

09:55

let's talk about this. Let's see if it's a good fit for you and it's something that you can adopt into your daily routine. So thank you so much for tuning in today. I hope that little hack has has been a sort of a helpful seed planted if anything, get yourself an apple cider vinegar, and start incorporating that into your day to day basis in lovely take care. Have a great day. Thank you for
